Urban Planning and environment

Environmental studies

These involve third-party appraisals of respect for the environment, reflected in recommendations.

  • For the public authorities, such appraisals are a valuable aid to decision-making.
  • For the developer, they are synonymous with guarantee and added value.
  • For local people and third parties, they constitute a valuable tool for the circulation of information and understanding.

For everyone, they result in an improved project, with a view to sustainable development.

Depending on the case in question, they may be referred to as Environmental Impact Studies, Plan Impact Studies or Environmental Impact Reports. Different terms to refer to a common, cross-disciplinary approach.

IGRETEC HAS BEEN WALLOON REGION APPROVED FOR OVER 15 YEARS:

  • to produce Environmental Impact Studies (for ALL project categories).

Urban Planning and environment

A MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM

Whatever the project, a team of experts with advanced skills and complementary profiles deals with all the possible impacts or interactions, whether these concern mobility, air, water, noise, the landscape, energy, the ground, etc.

The IGRETEC environmentalists’ are specialised in:

  • environmental chemistry (pollution, characteristics, etc.);
  • environmental physics (hydraulics, modelling, dimensioning, noise, hydrology, etc.);
  • environmental biology (fauna, flora, etc.);
  • mobility;
  • landscape;
  • urban planning (spatial allocation, building organisation);
  • energy, including renewable (wind, biomethanation, etc.).

Depending on the needs dictated by the nature of the projects, they call upon the specific skills required, which may be found within IGRETEC or outside. This philosophy enables them to venture successfully, in partnership, into other regions of the country.

By closely following all the developments in the regulatory framework governing the environment and urban planning, IGRETEC will remain a key adviser for all project leaders in Wallonia.
