MANAGEMENT OF TREATMENT FACILITIES

In its capacity as an Approved Decontamination Body, on behalf of the SPGE, IGRETEC operates waste water collection networks, treatment and pumping stations and a number of storm drains in an area covered by 21 communes of the Charleroi and South Hainaut region: Aiseau-Presles, Beaumont, Charleroi, Châtelet, Chimay, Courcelles, Erquelinnes, Farciennes, Fleurus, Fontaine-l’Evêque, Froidchapelle, Gerpinnes, Ham-sur-Heure-Nalinnes, Les Bons Villers, Lobbes, Merbes-le-Château, Momignies, Montigny-le-Tilleul, Pont-à-Celles, Sivry-Rance and Thuin, as well as the former communes of Moignelée and Tamines

IGRETEC therefore manages 350 km of collectors, over 120 pumping stations, nine flood water evacuation stations and 44 treatment stations on a daily basis. The investment and operating costs of the decontamination structures are fully funded by the SPGE.

The installed technical capacity exceeds 600,000 Inhabitant Equivalents (IE) and the volume of water treated annually approaches 50 million m³.

Some of these structures also have specific treatment tools. Subject to the prior signing of an agreement, the communes can send us the products resulting from the cleaning of sewers and gullies, and emptying services can come and decant the products resulting from the emptying of septic tanks in our facilities free of charge.

ENVIRONMENT/EMAS

Most of the treatment stations have had ISO14001 certification since 2002 and have been EMAS registered since 2003. These are forms of recognition from external bodies attesting to the fact that our environmental management system meets the requirements of these two sets of standards.
